“Ladies of Indian Lakes Inspirations”
(Lili Journal Issue #5,*82805)

Sunday August 28th , 2005
Daily Inspiration: “Three grand essentials to happiness in this life are something to do, something to love and something to hope for.”

Beauty Water: Rose Water
2 cups distilled water
*1/4 cup vodka (optional)
10 drops rose oil
1/2 cup fresh, deep-red rose petals
Measure the distilled water into a thoroughly-cleaned mixing bottle. Add the vodka*. Mix in the flowers so that they are completely wet. Add the oil.
Let the mixture stand in a covered bottle in a cool, dark place for one week to allow the scent to age. If you like, you can leave the petals in the mixture for a pretty visual effect.
Use this water as a skin refresher and splash some on your face to cool down.

Monday August 29th, 2005
Daily Inspiration: “Happiness is a perfume: you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself.”

Hair Tip:  Sun Streaking
This is a rich hair dressing which provides sheen and elegance to frazzled hair. It can also be used as a pressing oil for hair straightening.
Juice of 1 lemon
2 teaspoons chamomile tea
Mix lemon juice and tea. Using an inexpensive straw hat with lots of holes in it, pull strands of hair you would like to lighten through the holes with a crochet hook or pencil. Sit in the sun for 1 1/2 hours. You will achieve natural-looking streaking.

Tuesday August 30th, 2005
Daily Inspiration: “Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.”

Fun for the Girls Tip:  Body Glitter: Do Not Use Near Eyes
3 tablespoons Aloe Vera gel
1/2 teaspoon very fine glitter, color desired
1 drop essential oil, fragrance desired (optional)
Add glitter to Aloe Vera gel. Add essential oil, if desired.
Stir to blend, then store at room temperature in a small, airtight jar or container.
Use this before a night out on the town, or just for fun on your little ones!

Wednesday August 31ST ,2005
Daily Inspiration: “People seldom see the halting and painful steps by which the most insignificant success is achieved.”

Beauty Tip:  Vanilla Dusting Powder
1/2 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup baking soda
8 drops vanilla oil
Mix together the cornstarch and baking soda. Add vanilla oil, one drop at a time into the powders, mixing as you drop. Mix all the ingredients together well, distributing the scent oil throughout the powders.

Thursday September 1st, 2005
Daily Inspiration: “Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.”

1/2 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup lime juice
5 drops lemon extract

Friday September 2nd , 2005
Daily Inspiration: “Ones best success comes after their greatest disappointments.”

Beauty Tip:  Flour Paste For Frizzy Hair.
Flouring is an ancient recipe that smoothes the scales of the hair shaft, making it more manageable.
1 cup flour
2/3 cup cold water
Mix until lumps disappear. Apply to dry, unwashed hair, smoothing the mixture and your hair straight back. Leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse thoroughly about five minutes. Shampoo with one lathering of mild shampoo. Rinse with cool water

Saturday September 3rd, 2005
Daily Inspiration: “A friend that comes helps through tough a time, then leaves, is a blessing sent by God...
A friend that helps through tough times & remains, is an Angel who will lighten up the darkest part of life forever."

Beauty Tip: Large Pores Remedy
Mix table salt and buttermilk into a paste. Work well into the area where pores tend to be enlarged. Remove with warm water and repeat several times a week until the condition clears up.

Test your eyes -
Count every "F" in the following text:

       FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE-
       SULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTIFIC
       STUDY COMBINED WITH
       THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS...

Did you count..................... 3?
(SEE BELOW)

WRONG, THERE ARE 6 -- no joke.
 READ IT AGAIN !

The reasoning:
The brain cannot process "OF".
Go back and look again!!

Three is normal, four is quite rare.

Anyone who counts
all 6 "F's" on the first
try  is a genius.
